lets’ just go…
how about a drive to Blanco
someday soon
me and you
get up in the morning
share a kiss
and
slurp a cup of coffee
throw on some comfortable old clothes
and go;
fire up the engine
stop early on for gas
empty our minds
kick our cares in the a**;
roll the windows down
crack a few cold beers
leaving our routine behind
maybe catch the full moon
on our return
dropping concern
off as we exit the door,
pack away in the closet all our fears;
lets’ take to the back roads
at a relaxing speed
hugging the curves
as smooth and inviting as your lips
crossing the low water dips
a cool carefree trip
small perfect hills
rounded just so
inviting
like your hips
smooth as silk;
feeling fresh
with the windows rolled down
way, way open wide
one two three four/
let the swirling wind
bring in the cool country air
playing crazy in the car
side to side
tearing through our hair;
make us use our shout out voices…
above the din
laughing about our lifestyle choices…
maybe sip a little gin
press the gas pedal
to the floor/
your right bare foot
lazily perched out the
open window door;
head south then due
west out of Austin
pavement disappearing under our four
spinning wheels
rubber humming on the road/
leaving no trace
of our ever lightening load/
yeah, lets’ take the wandering road to Blanco
lets’ don’t pack anything;
lets’ just go…
